Helping Oklahoma Foster and Adoptive Families Thrive

Equipping children and caregivers impacted by foster and adoption with practical support, evidence-based caregiver education, and therapy scholarships, so families heal, grow, and build strong relationships.

Even the most loving families need support.

Children who join a family through foster, kinship, or adoption often carry early experiences of loss, instability, or trauma that shape how they respond to the world. Caregivers can face challenges that standard parenting strategies don’t resolve, because the outward behavior is rarely the real issue. It usually signals something beneath the surface such as fear, grief, or a need for safety.

The right help is hard to find and often expensive. No family should navigate the challenges of foster or adoption care alone. Abide Family Support connects families to the support, tools, and resources they need to heal, strengthen connections, and find hope.

OUR STORY

Families find healing and hope through faith, education, therapy, and community

Sheryl Klenovich knows this journey firsthand. As a birth and adoptive mom, she has lived the unique joys and challenges of building a family through adoption. Along the way, she experienced her own family struggle before finding the resources that helped them heal and thrive.

"We are far from perfect, but now we have the tools to build the connected and loving home we always wanted."

Experiencing that transformation firsthand became a mission to make those same resources accessible to other families. Abide Family Support was founded in 2026 in response to that calling, helping other families impacted by foster care and adoption access the support and resources they need to build strong, lasting homes.

An invitation to Tulsa area churches:

Families impacted by foster care and adoption are already sitting in your congregation. By partnering with AFS, your church can host caregiver classes, sponsor specialized therapy for children, and create opportunities for families to find connection and community. All without adding another program for your staff to manage.

Let’s talk about how your church can get involved.
