Circle of Security Parenting for Building Healthy Attachments

Circle of Security Parenting™ is an 8-week program designed to help caregivers build stronger, more secure relationships with their children. Our classes are offered to families impacted by foster care and adoption.

What is Circle of Security Parenting?

Circle of Security Parenting, or COSP, is an internationally recognized, evidence-based program. Decades of research show that secure children exhibit increased empathy, greater self-esteem, better relationships with parents and peers, and enhanced school readiness. It gives you practical tools to understand behavior beneath the surface and respond with confidence. Classes through Abide Family Support are taught by registered Circle of Security facilitators, many of whom are foster and adoptive parents and have completed the course themselves.

Through this program, caregivers learn to map their child’s behavior to the Circle of Security, identify the underlying needs, and build a strong, lifelong foundation of attachment security.

Who is this for?

While COSP is designed for early intervention for all children, our classes are specifically offered to caregivers navigating challenges associated with foster and adoption. It will help you navigate hard moments and build connection with all the children in your home.

How It Works

COSP is offered in small groups of up to 10 caregivers, meeting for eight weekly sessions, each lasting about 90 minutes. Each session uses video-based learning and guided reflection, led by a certified facilitator. You will have space to learn, ask questions, and connect with other caregivers who understand the foster care and adoption journey.
