Sheryl Klenovich

FOUNDER
PRESIDENT
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Sheryl Klenovich has been married to Nicholas since 2004 and is a grateful mother of two teenagers—a son by birth and a daughter through adoption, both journeys serving as a testimony to God’s faithfulness. She enjoys connecting with others around faith, family, and everyday life. In her free time, she loves swimming, reading, and making meaningful memories with her family, especially at the beach and in the mountains.

Through both her personal story and professional background—as well as years of walking alongside close friends who serve as foster parents-Sheryl has developed a deep passion for supporting children and families in need of additional care and encouragement. In the fall of 2024, she felt God calling her to step out in faith and begin what would become Abide Family Support, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to providing practical, holistic support to foster and adoptive families. The organization was officially founded in 2026, and Sheryl considers it a true privilege to serve alongside others who share a heart for strengthening families.

Professionally, Sheryl has been a registered nurse for nearly 20 years, with experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Oklahoma in 2019. For the past decade, she has taught nursing students at Rogers State University, where she is passionate about mentoring and preparing the next generation of nurses.

James Gattis

TREASURER

James Gattis resides in Sapulpa, Oklahoma with his wife Amy and four children. The Gattis family has a small acreage that is home to an ever-changing menagerie of animals, but there are always horses, dogs, and cats to be found. The family has spent more than two decades residing in NE Oklahoma, where they have grown close to the Sapulpa and Sand Springs communities through involvement with their local church and various outreach ministries.

James’ heart for adoptive and foster families stems from his role as a church elder and pastoral counselor, where he has seen many people experience the benefits of coaching, counseling, and faith-based guidance. Having come from a blended family himself, he recognizes the challenges that come with a new family makeup. James’ stepfather once explained his approach to raising a step-child by saying, “I asked God how to raise you and he told me, ‘Jesus wasn’t Joseph’s biological son… but he raised him anyway. If it’s good enough for the Messiah, it’s good enough for the two of you’.”

James’ professional career has spanned over two decades in the Oil and Gas industry across Texas and Oklahoma. He has a background in Finance, Accounting, and related software applications in the industry. James completed an MBA from Oklahoma State University in 2002 and a Master of Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University in 2023.

Brenda Graham

BOARD MEMBER

Brenda has been married to her college sweetheart, Darryl, since 1987 and feels blessed to be the mom of three adult children and 9 grandchildren. She loves reading, traveling, learning new things, and making memories with her family.

From an early age, Brenda felt compassion for families involved in the foster system. During summer breaks while in college, Brenda provided respite care to foster families in her local community.

Brenda’s heart for adoption grew after she married Darryl, who was adopted at birth. Decades later, Brenda witnessed the struggle, strength, courage, sacrifice, and unconditional love as her oldest daughter and son-in-law experienced the highs and lows of adoption through the same agency.

Professionally, Brenda received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990 and has served both adults and children in critical care, mental health, and school nursing. She received a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a focus on leadership and administration in 2017. After obtaining a graduate degree, Brenda has been honored to invest in patients and other healthcare professionals while in clinical nurse manager, academic nursing instructor, and compliance officer roles.

Jeremy Curzio

BOARD MEMBER

Jeremy Curzio has been married to his amazing wife Jamie since 2006. They have twin boys through adoption, 2 dogs, 6 goats and lots of chickens. In his free time, he likes to spend time on their small farm, swimming with his family, fishing with his boys and fellowshipping with friends. Originally from Littleton CO, they moved to Oklahoma in 2023 and are very grateful the Lord called them to Oklahoma. They are blessed to be living close to family and they have a wonderful church family at Foundation Church in Sapulpa.

Through the adoption journey and the birth of his boys, Jeremy found his faith in Christ. Jamie and Jeremy have experienced many hardships that can come with adoption, including a failed adoption, their boys being born very pre mature at 28 weeks, and all the health complications that came with that, as well as a lawsuit post finalization. Through all these trials, Jeremy learned to let go and truly trust the Lord. He credits these experiences with his strong faith in Jesus.

In his professional life, Jeremy works as an insurance producer for a property and casualty broker, Compass Insurance, since 2007. He is grateful for the relationships he has made with coworkers and his clients throughout his career. He has a BA in Political Science from the University of Colorado-Denver.
